TLDR Rosemary and capsicum extracts can help hair growth in rats with hair loss.
The study on 60 male Wistar rats with testosterone-induced alopecia found that topical application of standardized rosemary and capsicum extracts significantly improved hair growth. Specifically, 5% rosemary and 0.075% capsicum extracts increased hair follicle diameter and length, with rosemary's effects comparable to 2% finasteride. These findings suggest that these natural extracts could be effective treatments for androgenic alopecia, offering a potential alternative to conventional treatments. Further research is needed to assess their applicability in humans.
