TLDR Capsaicin and minoxidil together lead to quick, steady hair growth.
The study investigated the effects of coapplying capsaicin and minoxidil on hair growth in mice, compared to using each agent alone. It was found that both capsaicin and minoxidil individually initiated hair growth faster than their combination or the control. Capsaicin alone resulted in the fastest hair growth, while the coapplied group showed steady growth, eventually surpassing other groups in hair length by the 30th day. Capsaicin accelerated the hair cycle, whereas minoxidil and the combination prolonged the anagen phase. Despite a decrease in mast cell count across all groups, capsaicin showed a more significant reduction. The study concluded that while capsaicin quickly induces the anagen phase, minoxidil prolongs it, and their coapplication results in quick and steady hair growth.
