TLDR A combination of IGF-1 and EGF promotes hair growth in Angora rabbits.

The study demonstrated that a combination of 10 ng/mL insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and 20 ng/mL epidermal growth factor (EGF) significantly promoted hair growth in Angora rabbits. In vitro, this combination increased hair shaft elongation and enhanced hair follicle (HF) proliferation and development. In vivo, subcutaneous injections of IGF-1 and EGF in rabbits facilitated the transition of the hair cycle from telogen to anagen, stimulated hair shaft growth, and maintained HF structure. The treatment also regulated HF-related genes, indicating its potential positive role in HF growth and development, which could benefit hair and wool production and address HF-related diseases in mammals.
