TLDR Placental stem cell exosome therapy improves hair growth and reduces hair loss.
This clinical trial investigated the use of placenta-derived mesenchymal stem cell exosome therapy for treating androgenetic alopecia in 12 patients. Over a 2-month period, exosomes were injected into the scalp every 14 days. Results showed significant improvements: hair density increased from 96.5 to 163.5 hairs/cm², hair diameter increased from 0.049 mm to 0.059 mm, and hair loss count decreased from 200 to 80 hairs. No significant adverse effects were reported. The study concludes that this therapy is effective in improving hair growth and reducing hair loss, but further research with larger sample sizes is needed.
