TLDR 3D-printed microneedles can precisely regrow hair in targeted areas.
This study presents a method for precise hair regeneration using customized microneedle arrays (MNAs) fabricated through a 3D printing technology. In a mouse model, MNAs induced hair regrowth in specific areas, with improved hair quality. The treatment recruits macrophages and initiates hair follicle stem cell proliferation, enhancing hair regeneration. Activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and upregulation of Hgf, Igf 1, and Tnf-α expressions were observed, contributing to the process. This approach offers a promising strategy for personalized hair loss treatment.
