    Sebocytes are specialized cells found in the sebaceous glands of the skin. These cells produce and secrete sebum, an oily substance that helps to lubricate and protect the skin and hair. For professionals, it's important to note that sebocytes undergo a process called holocrine secretion, where the entire cell disintegrates to release its contents.
