    GlossaryVaricosities (Varicose Vein)

swollen, twisted veins visible under the skin's surface

Varicosities refer to the swollen, twisted veins that are often visible just under the surface of the skin, commonly known as varicose veins. They occur when the valves in the veins that regulate blood flow become weak or damaged, causing blood to pool and the veins to enlarge. This condition is most frequently seen in the legs and can cause discomfort, pain, and sometimes more serious circulatory issues.
