In a randomized, split-face, single-blinded controlled trial, eflornithine was applied twice daily for 6 months to half of the face following 5-6 IPL treatments. Results showed that eflornithine reduced hair regrowth by 14% at 1 month, 9% at 3 months, and 17% at 6 months compared to no treatment. Patient satisfaction was high, and the treatment was generally well tolerated, although two patients experienced worsening acne.
