TLDR The Chinese herbal supplement BeauTop can potentially boost hair growth and thickness by increasing a protein called Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor.
The study conducted on 60 participants and 12 C57BL/6 mice investigated the effects of the Chinese herbal supplement BeauTop (BT) on hair growth. The results showed that BT significantly increased the expression of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), a protein known to stimulate hair growth and angiogenesis. Participants and BT-treated mice showed a significant increase in hair density, thickness, and follicle size compared to the control group. The study also suggested that BT could potentially treat Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) due to its immunomodulating and anti-inflammatory properties. A previous clinical trial showed that 52.9% of participants in the BT treatment group experienced an increase in hair growth. However, further studies are needed to confirm these findings.
