TLDR Transcutol-containing vesicles improve minoxidil's skin penetration and hair growth promotion.
The study investigated the use of Transcutol-containing vesicles for the topical delivery of minoxidil. The results showed that the vesicles improved the skin penetration of minoxidil and increased its efficacy in promoting hair growth. The study suggests that transcutol-containing vesicles could be a promising approach for topical delivery of minoxidil for the treatment of hair loss. The vesicles were found to be stable and had good entrapment efficiency. However, the concentration of Transcutol affected the viscoelastic behavior of the vesicles and their ability to interact with the lipidic bilayer. Further research is needed to optimize the formulation of PEVs for the effective delivery of minoxidil.
