TLDR Adenosine helps grow thicker hair in Japanese men with hair loss.
The study investigated the efficacy and safety of topical adenosine in promoting hair growth in Japanese men with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). A total of 104 male volunteers with AGA participated in the study, and they were randomized into two groups. The study was conducted for six months, and the subjects applied either 0.75% adenosine or 0.1% niacinamide to the scalp vertex twice daily. The results showed that adenosine increased the ratio of thick hair in Japanese men with AGA, and it was safe to use. The study suggests that adenosine could be a potential treatment for AGA.
