TLDR Emerging therapies like stem cell and laser treatments show promise for hair regeneration.
The document discussed various treatments and methodologies for hair loss, including traditional drugs like minoxidil and finasteride, and emerging therapies such as stem cell therapy, low-level laser therapy, and mesotherapy. Stem cell therapy showed promise in regenerating hair follicles, while Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) advanced hair transplant surgery. Low-level laser and diode-laser therapies increased follicle numbers and hair shaft diameter, offering alternatives for those unresponsive to traditional treatments. Mesotherapy, despite its side effects, was considered a viable option. Compounds like nestin and noggin also showed potential in promoting hair growth. However, these treatments were less effective for genetically-induced hair loss, highlighting the need for novel drugs and further research.
