Substance P prolongs human hair growth in vitro
November 2003
in “Journal of dermatological science”
TLDR Substance P helps hair grow longer and faster.
The study investigated the role of substance P (SP) on human hair growth using an organ culture method. It was found that SP prolonged the duration of hair growth and increased the rate of linear hair growth. This suggested that SP might play a significant role in the physiology of hair follicles by promoting their proliferation. The findings provided insights into the potential of SP as a therapeutic target for hair growth regulation.
