TLDR Pruritus is common in LPP and FFA, worsened by heat and stress, and relieved by cold, affecting quality of life.
The study examined pruritus in 61 patients with lichen planopilaris (LPP) and frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA), finding that 73.8% experienced pruritus, often with tingling or burning sensations. Factors such as sweating, heat, stress, and hot water increased pruritus severity, while cold water and air provided relief. Significant correlations were found between pruritus and dermoscopic features like perifollicular scaling and hair diameter diversity. The study underscores the impact of pruritus on quality of life and the importance of developing effective management strategies.
