TLDR Probiotics help improve skin wound healing in diabetic rats.
This study investigated the role of probiotics in enhancing the effects of combined cellular therapy (CCT) on diabetic wound healing in rats. The research involved 24 diabetic Albino rats divided into four groups, with treatments including probiotics and CCT, which consisted of mesenchymal stem cells, platelet-rich plasma, and stromal vascular fraction. Results showed that CCT significantly improved wound healing by reversing high levels of eNOS, Caspase-3, and IL-10, and increasing VEGF and Collagen I levels. The addition of probiotics further accelerated healing, reduced oxidative stress, apoptosis, and inflammation, and promoted vascularization and collagen organization. The study concluded that probiotics are important for diabetic wound healing and can improve patients' quality of life.
