TLDR The phytosome lotion made from Mangkokan leaf extract was more effective for hair growth than 2% minoxidil, especially at 30% concentration.
The research focused on creating a phytosome lotion from Mangkokan leaf extract for hair growth. The extract was obtained using a specific solvent and microwave-assisted extraction, then formulated into a phytosome with varying ratios of phospholipon. The optimal formula was determined based on several factors including morphology, particle size, and entrapment efficiency. The selected formula was then used to create three lotion formulas with different concentrations (20%, 25%, 30%), which were evaluated for physical stability and hair growth activity. The study found that the phytosome lotion was more effective than 2% minoxidil, with the 30% concentration showing the highest efficacy for hair length, weight, and diameter.
