TLDR VEGF can boost hair growth in mice with scleroderma.
The study investigated the effect of VEGF on hair growth in mice with scleroderma by transducing phVEGF165 into their skin. Results showed that VEGF significantly promoted hair growth and increased hair follicles. The expression of VEGF mRNA and protein was observed in the dermis and hair follicles where phVEGF165 was transduced. The conclusion was that VEGF could significantly enhance hair growth and regeneration in mice with scleroderma.
