TLDR The laser treatment improved hair appearance and was safe and well-received by patients.
The study on nonablative Er:YAG laser treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 32 patients aged 20-55 demonstrated clinical improvement in hair appearance after six sessions over two weeks, with follow-up after one month. Patients reported high satisfaction and mild scalp scaling as the only adverse effect. The treatment showed a median clinical improvement score of 6 out of 10 and was well-tolerated with a median pain score of 3 out of 10. Despite the positive outcomes, the study's limitations, such as small sample size and lack of placebo control, suggest the need for further randomized controlled trials to confirm these findings.
