TLDR A young man was diagnosed with a rare hair loss condition usually seen in older women.
A 29-year-old man was diagnosed with Graham-Little-Piccardi-Lasseur syndrome (GLPLS), a variant of lichen planopilaris, characterized by multifocal cicatricial alopecia of the scalp, nonscarring alopecia of the axillae and/or groin, and keratotic follicular papules on the trunk and extremities. The diagnosis was supported by histologic findings, which included perifollicular lymphocytic infiltrate and follicular dilatation. Topical steroids are considered first-line treatment for GLPLS, although complete remission is rare. The condition is more common in postmenopausal females, but this case highlights its occurrence in a young male.
