TLDR Microneedling combined with platelet-rich plasma therapy is more effective for hair regrowth in androgenic alopecia than microneedling alone, but it's more painful.
The study involved 50 patients with androgenic alopecia, divided into two groups of 25. One group received microneedling combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, while the other received only microneedling. The results showed that the combination of microneedling and PRP therapy was more effective in promoting hair growth, stimulating hair follicles, and reducing the need for hair transplants than microneedling alone. However, the addition of PRP injections made the treatment more painful. The study concluded that microneedling combined with PRP therapy is a safe and effective method for stimulating hair and promoting faster regrowth in androgenetic alopecia.
