TLDR Microneedling may help hair loss, but needs more research.
The article discusses microneedling as a potential treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA), the most common type of hair loss in men and women. Microneedling is a minimally invasive technique that induces collagen formation and growth factor production, and has shown promise in increasing hair density, thickness, and quality when used alone or in combination with other treatments. However, no standardized protocol for microneedling in hair loss has been proposed yet, and the current evidence is not sufficient to allow a direct comparison with other therapies. The article provides an overview of the available literature regarding the use of microneedling for AGA, including devices and types of microneedling, the procedure for microneedling in alopecia, and potential side effects.
