TLDR Finasteride effectively and safely improves hair growth in young men with hair loss.

The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of oral finasteride in treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 40 male patients aged 18-35 over 9 months. Administering 1 mg/day of finasteride showed significant improvement in hair growth, as evidenced by clinical photographs, trichogram results, hair pull tests, and patient self-assessments. Improvements were noted as early as 3 months, with the most benefit observed in the mid-area, followed by the vertex and frontal areas. The study found no significant side effects, concluding that finasteride was a safe, well-tolerated, and effective treatment for male AGA.
