TLDR LSD1 and HSP90 help heal skin wounds by changing hair follicle stem cells' metabolism.
The study investigates the role of LSD1 and HSP90 in skin wound healing through their interaction and impact on hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs). The researchers found that LSD1 and HSP90 upregulate the expression of c-MYC, which in turn activates lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA). This activation promotes glycolytic metabolism, proliferation, and differentiation of HFSCs, facilitating wound healing. In vivo experiments with mice confirmed that the LSD1/HSP90/c-MYC/LDHA axis significantly accelerates skin wound healing by reprogramming HFSC metabolism.
