TLDR Sargassum horneri extract speeds up burn healing and reduces inflammation.
The study explores the effects of low-temperature pulverization-specific Sargassum horneri extract (LPSHE) on burn wound healing and inflammation in a mouse model and human keratinocyte cells. LPSHE was found to accelerate wound healing by promoting F-actin formation, reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, and decreasing pro-inflammatory cytokines like IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α. It also enhanced cell viability, proliferation, and migration in human keratinocyte cells, while activating the FAK signaling pathway. The research underscores the potential of LPSHE as a therapeutic candidate for burn wound healing and highlights the significance of low-temperature pulverization in discovering novel marine-derived compounds.
