TLDR PRP therapy can improve healing in nursing care but needs standardized protocols and collaboration.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is gaining traction in nursing-led care due to its regenerative capabilities, which include promoting tissue regeneration, modulating inflammation, and enhancing recovery in conditions like chronic wounds and musculoskeletal disorders. This review highlights the biological mechanisms of PRP, such as growth factor signaling and immunomodulation, and evaluates its clinical outcomes in nursing practice. It underscores the alignment of PRP's patient-specific approach with holistic nursing models but notes challenges like formulation variability and lack of standardized protocols. The review suggests integrating PRP into nursing through digital tools, individualized care pathways, and interdisciplinary collaboration to overcome these barriers.
