TLDR BLH308, made from persimmon leaf, green tea, and sophora fruit, may help reduce hair loss by fighting oxidative stress and inflammation.
The study investigated the effects of a complex extract (BLH308) made from persimmon leaf, green tea, and sophora fruit on hair loss. The extract demonstrated significant antioxidant activity and anti-inflammatory effects in vitro, including the inhibition of interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α production in RAW 264.7 cells and downregulation of 5-alpha reductase Ⅱ expression in human dermal papilla cells. In vivo tests on C57BL/6N mice with testosterone propionate-induced hair loss showed that BLH308 promoted the onset of the hair growth phase, effectively reducing hair loss. The results suggest that BLH308 could be a promising candidate for treating androgenetic alopecia.
