TLDR RE-ORGA, a Korean herb extract, may help prevent hair loss.
In 2018, a study was conducted on RE-ORGA, a Korean herb extract, to investigate its effects on hair loss prevention in human dermal papilla cells. The research found that RE-ORGA promoted the proliferation of these cells, inhibited the expression of 5α-reductases and Bax, and showed low cytotoxicity. It also decreased the mRNA expressions of SRD5A1, Bax, TGF-β1, and TGFβ1I1, while increasing the expression of PTK2β. Additionally, RE-ORGA demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity through decreased mRNA levels of TNF-α. The study concluded that RE-ORGA could potentially alleviate hair loss by regulating 5α-reductase activity and the receptor's androgen sensitivity. However, further research was needed to confirm these findings and to identify the main target proteins of RE-ORGA.
