TLDR PPAR alpha may help in hair growth and could be a target for treatment.
The study investigated the expression of PPAR alpha, delta, and gamma in human hair follicles and found that these receptors were present in both dermal and epithelial cells. It also examined the effect of clofibrate, a PPAR alpha ligand, on hair follicle survival in culture, noting a beneficial effect within a specific concentration range. This suggested that PPAR alpha could play a significant role in regulating hair growth.
