TLDR Exosomes could improve skin health and treat skin diseases, but more research is needed.
Exosomes, nanosized vesicles involved in intercellular communication, play significant roles in skin health and disease, influencing processes like wound healing and tissue regeneration. This review highlights their complex composition and potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic agents in conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, and skin cancer. While exosome-based approaches show promise for advancing dermatological disease management, challenges remain in clinical application. Further research is needed to fully harness their therapeutic potential and develop personalized skin health strategies.
