TLDR The hydrogel improves burn healing by promoting tissue growth and reducing inflammation.
The study presents a novel sprayable thermo-sensitive polysaccharide-based hydrogel (ADA-aPF127@LL18/Exo) designed to enhance burn wound healing. This hydrogel, which includes alginate dialdehyde and aminated Pluronic F127, offers sustained release of exosomes and improved antibacterial properties due to the inclusion of the antimicrobial peptide LL18. The hydrogel demonstrated excellent biocompatibility, promoting cell proliferation and migration in vitro. In a rat model of deep partial thickness burns, the hydrogel significantly improved wound healing by accelerating epithelialization, promoting granulation tissue formation, collagen deposition, hair follicle regeneration, reducing inflammation, and enhancing neovascularization. This innovative dressing shows promise as an effective treatment for deep burns, offering easy application and maintaining a moist wound environment.
