The microemulsion system, which included ethanol and polymeric agents, enhanced the permeation rates and chemical stability of the hormones, except for cyproterone acetate with polycarbophil. Despite the potential for improved transdermal delivery, concerns about inflammatory reactions and toxicity were noted, indicating the need for further in vitro toxicity studies.
