TLDR The emulgel with specific ingredients was effective for treating hair loss.
The study focused on developing an emulgel for the topical treatment of androgenic alopecia (AGA), a common hereditary hair loss condition affecting both men and women. Researchers aimed to determine the optimal concentration of excipients and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for the emulgel. Various formulations were tested for colloidal and thermal stability, pH, and rheological properties. The study found that the emulgel base with 0.3% Carbomer Ultraz 10, 0.1% potassium sorbate, and 0.2% triethanolamine exhibited optimal properties. The final formulation included specific concentrations of APIs, neutralizers, preservatives, antioxidants, and fragrance, ensuring good API release, application compliance, safety, and storage stability.
