TLDR The "Flavosterol" emulgel meets quality standards for treating hair loss.
The study developed quality control methods for the "Flavosterol" emulgel, intended for the prevention and treatment of androgenetic alopecia. The emulgel was found to be a homogeneous, viscous mass with a yellow-green creamy consistency and a lavender scent. It met the requirements for colloidal and thermal stability, and qualitative tests confirmed the presence of flavonoids, triterpenoids, and steroid compounds. The quantitative content of flavonoids was 0.92 ± 0.019 mg/g, and triterpenoids and phytosterols were 2.16 ± 0.053 mg/g. The structural viscosity was 3980 ± 50 MPa·s, and the pH was 5.3 ± 0.1. Microbiological tests showed no pathogens, and the total number of bacteria and fungi was within acceptable limits. The quality of the emulgel met the standards specified in the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine 2.0.
