TLDR Microneedles offer a painless, effective, and easy-to-use hair loss treatment.
The study presents a new, painless drug delivery system using embeddable microneedles (MNs) for hair loss treatment. These MNs have an air-pocket design that allows them to implant into the skin and release over 90% of the loaded minoxidil within 48 hours, while also sealing skin punctures to reduce infection risk. In vivo studies demonstrated that MXD-loaded MNs were more effective than topical applications, indicating a promising, minimally invasive, and potentially self-administered treatment option for hair loss.
