This article discusses a case report of a 52-year-old woman with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) who also had female pattern hair loss (FPHL). The patient had tried various treatments, including topical minoxidil and estrogen replacement therapy, but none were effective. The report suggests that mechanisms other than direct androgen action may contribute to FPHL in women and highlights the need for further research into the causes and treatment of FPHL.
