TLDR Botox can effectively treat hair loss with some side effects and high cost, while LC hair serum also shows great results with fewer side effects.
The study "Efficacy of botulinum toxin A injection in the treatment of androgenic alopecia: A Comparative Controlled Study" involved 62 patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The patients were divided into two groups: Group I (31 patients) received 1 ml of LC hair essence serum diluted with 0.5 ml of 0.9% normal saline once weekly for 8 weeks, and Group II (31 patients) were injected with 50 units of botulinum toxin A. The results showed a significant difference in trichoscopy findings between the baseline and the end of the sixth month in the Botox group, and a highly significant difference in the LC group. There was a statistically significant increase in the frequency of side effects (irritation and headache) in Group II compared to Group I. The study concluded that Botox can induce significant results in the treatment of AGA with mild and tolerable side effects but at a high cost, while LC hair serum exhibited excellent results with fewer side effects.
