TLDR Whalgichan improved hair growth, reduced hair loss, and enhanced cholesterol and lipid metabolism without side effects.
This study investigated the effects of a biotin-rich functional food, Whalgichan, on hair growth and biological stimulation in both rats and humans. In a clinical test involving 27 men with hair loss, the total hair count increased by 62% over eight weeks, while hair loss decreased by 28%. Additionally, LDL and phospholipids decreased by 42% and 36%, respectively, and HDL increased by 21%. Participants also reported reduced itching and dandruff, with no side effects observed. The study suggested that the functional food could stimulate cholesterol and lipid metabolism and improve blood flow, promoting hair growth and reducing hair loss.
