TLDR AI can help track and improve hair loss treatment outcomes.
This case series investigates the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor the outcomes of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments in three female patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). AI technology provided quantitative data on hair fiber number and diameter, offering a more objective assessment of PRP efficacy. Results indicated slight to moderate improvements in hair density and increases in large terminal hair fibers. The AI device also helped determine optimal PRP injection intervals and sites, suggesting that AI can enhance clinical decision-making in hair loss treatments. Despite the small sample size and non-standardized PRP session intervals, AI technology shows promise as a tool for objectively measuring treatment progress in AGA.
