TLDR An AI photographic device effectively tracked hair growth improvements in women treated for hair loss.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of an AI photographic device, HairMetrix®, in tracking the outcomes of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy in two adult Caucasian female patients with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The device provided a non-invasive, quantitative assessment of scalp health and hair growth by analyzing photos taken at specific scalp locations before PRP treatments. Results indicated an increase in hair width and follicle count, and a decrease in intrafollicular distance after one PRP treatment, suggesting that AI technology can offer objective data to evaluate treatment efficacy and inform clinical management of alopecia.
