TLDR PRP shows promise for short-term hair growth, especially in young men.
The study on Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for androgenetic alopecia and female pattern hair loss involved 120 patients and compared PRP to Finasteride and placebo groups. Initial results showed no significant improvement in the PRP group after one month, but significant improvements in hair growth and reduction in hair loss were observed after three and six months. PRP was concluded to be a promising short-term treatment, especially for young men who prefer not to undergo long-term treatments. Despite some hair loss during the procedure due to telogen effluvium, the overall response to PRP was positive. However, the study's validity was questioned due to potential biases and the need for further research.
