TLDR Activin B helps heal skin wounds and grow hair by activating a specific cell signaling pathway.
The study conducted 12 years ago by Min Zhang, Nu-Yun Liu, Xue-Er Wang, Ying-Hua Chen, Qing-Lin Li, Kang-Rong Lu, Li Sun, Qin Jia, Lu Zhang, and Lin Zhang involved 247 mice and found that the protein Activin B significantly promotes epithelial wound healing and stimulates the proliferation of keratinocytes and hair follicle cells. This is achieved through the activation of the RhoA-JNK signaling pathway, which is crucial for cell migration and proliferation. The study also found that blocking this pathway delayed wound healing. The findings suggest potential therapeutic uses of Activin B for wound healing and hair growth stimulation.
