Telangiectasia, also known as spider veins, refers to small, dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin or mucous membranes. These vessels can appear as red, blue, or purple lines and are often found on the face, legs, and other areas. They can result from various factors, including genetics, sun exposure, and certain medical conditions, and are generally harmless but may be treated for cosmetic reasons.
