    GlossaryCellulite

condition where skin appears dimpled due to underlying fat deposits

Cellulite, often referred to as orange peel skin or cottage cheese skin, is a condition where the skin appears dimpled and lumpy due to the underlying fat deposits pushing through the connective tissue beneath the skin. It is most commonly found on the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen and is more prevalent in women due to differences in fat distribution, muscle, and connective tissue structure. While not harmful, cellulite can be a cosmetic concern for many individuals.
