TLDR TS-13 speeds up hair regrowth after chemotherapy without affecting treatment effectiveness.
The study on 30 mice demonstrated that the monophenolic antioxidant TS-13 accelerates hair regrowth in cases of chemotherapy-induced alopecia (CIA). Mice treated with TS-13 began hair restoration on the 17th day, completing by the 31st day, whereas untreated CIA mice started on the 25th day and finished by the 40th day. Although TS-13 did not prevent hair loss from cyclophosphamide, it did not affect the drug's antiproliferative effects, indicating that TS-13 could aid in managing CIA without reducing chemotherapy effectiveness.
