    TLDR Early detection of Lichen Planopilaris is important to prevent worsening and misdiagnosis.
    Lichen planopilaris (LPP), though less common than nonscarring alopecias and infrequent in individuals with black scalp, has significant aesthetic and psychosocial consequences. Early recognition of LPP is crucial to stop its progression, reduce its psychosocial effects, and avoid misdiagnosis.
