TLDR Combining PRP with minoxidil and finasteride is the most effective treatment for male hair loss.
This study evaluated treatments for male androgenetic alopecia (AGA) by comparing the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and a combination of minoxidil with finasteride. Eighty patients were divided into four groups: minoxidil and finasteride solution, PRP alone, PRP with minoxidil and finasteride, and a placebo group receiving normal saline. Over six months, the combined treatment group (PRP with minoxidil and finasteride) showed the most significant improvement in the hair pull test (73.33% negative tests) and the highest patient satisfaction scores, indicating superior treatment response compared to other groups. The study concludes that combining PRP with topical treatments is more effective than individual therapies or placebo in managing AGA.
