TLDR Portuguese WAA-QoL questionnaire validated; FPHL severity, schooling, and phototypes affect patients' quality of life.
This study translated and adapted the Women's Androgenetic Alopecia Quality of Life (WAA-QoL) questionnaire into Portuguese for use in Brazil and validated its psychometric performance. The final questionnaire showed excellent internal consistency and temporal stability, indicating its use as an outcome in clinical studies. The study found that the severity of female pattern hair loss (FPHL) impacted the quality of life of patients, as did schooling and phototypes. The study suggests that understanding which elements impact the quality of life of patients with FPHL can help identify individual actions that result in the reduction of the suffering caused by the condition.
