TLDR The Spanish version of the WAA-QoL questionnaire is reliable and valid for assessing quality of life in women with hair loss.
The study aimed to translate, culturally adapt, and validate the Women’s Androgenetic Alopecia Quality of Life (WAA-QoL) questionnaire into Spanish (WAA-QoL-sp). The translated questionnaire was administered to 453 women from various Spanish-speaking countries, with a median age of 39 years. The results showed high internal consistency, with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.969, indicating that the WAA-QoL-sp is a reliable and valid tool for assessing quality of life in female pattern hair loss (FPHL) patients. However, the study's limitation was the diverse but not comprehensive sampling of Spanish-speaking countries.
