TLDR Fulvestrant solution doesn't help hair loss in men and postmenopausal women.
The study aimed to investigate the efficacy of topical fulvestrant solution in treating androgenetic alopecia in men and postmenopausal women. Two randomized, proof-of-concept studies were conducted, with 102 men and 70 women participating. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences favoring fulvestrant over the vehicle at day 113 for any of the efficacy parameters in either the male or the female study. Statistically significant differences in favor of minoxidil over fulvestrant were seen at day 113 for hair density, cumulative hair thickness, and hair growth rate in men. Therefore, the study concluded that topical fulvestrant solution has no effect on male and postmenopausal female androgenetic alopecia.
