TLDR Sertoli-Leydig cell tumors are rare ovarian tumors that can cause symptoms like menorrhagia.
Sertoli-Leydig cell tumours (SLCTs) were rare ovarian neoplasms, comprising less than 0.5% of all ovarian tumours, and were most common in women of reproductive age, averaging 25 years old. These tumours were typically unilateral and diagnosed at stage I. Patients often presented with symptoms due to mass effects or hormonal production, with 80% exhibiting androgenic symptoms like virilism and hirsutism, while estrogenic symptoms were less common. The prognosis depended on tumour differentiation and staging. This report detailed a rare case of SLCT with the estrogenic symptom of menorrhagia.
